I was born in Co. Limerick Ireland, moved to the United States in 1985 at the age of twelve. My father acquire a Resident Managers position on East End Avenue.
My career begun with me working as a summer relief, doorman, porter and elevator operator. When I graduated High School, I continued to work as a doorman at night while attending trade school for HVAC. While I enjoyed HVAC I knew I needed more. I acquired my first Super’s job at age 21 and progressed from there. After being the Resident Manager for a 500 unit Residential building and then The Head Resident Manager for Memorial Sloan Kettering Housing Department, I am happily the Resident Manager of the San Remo.
I was introduced to the SABMG many years ago, after attending and being a member of other organizations I knew I was at home on my first SABMG meeting. It was professional yet relaxing. I was welcomed by all that attended that meeting. Meeting after meeting I started developing new friendships and knew it was than just your regular Resident Manager’s club. It was a FAMILY.
Today I am proud to, not only be a member, but to have the honor of sitting on the Board.
The SABMG is not just a Resident Manager’s organization to me. It is a family, a place to socialize, to network, to get advice if needed, to meet new people, to gather as a group with people who have similar situations.

New York has been part of my family for quite some time. My parents immigrated to the US in the early 70’s and settled in New York for a few years. In the mid 70’s my father and mother left New York for the Great Lakes State known as Michigan, where I was born and raised.
At the age of 20 I decided to make my way back to New York. I started to work in this industry of ours, as many others did, as summer relief. I took a real liking to the line of work that I was in and that’s when it all began. I was able to secure a permanent position and started to work full-time and was fortunate to have had excellent mentors who took me under their guidance.
At the age of 25 a very dear friend helped me get my first Superintendent position. During my tenure there I decided to go back to school, specifically trade school that specialized in plumbing, electrical and HVAC. I also took computer programming courses which really solidified my belief that being in this industry is where I want to be. Since my first position nearly 15 years ago my sentiments are the same now as they were back then.
The SABMG is a unique organization which makes their members feel welcomed and where they should be. I have attended other meetings at comparable clubs; however, The SABMG is different and our President Kevin Walsh is the one who showed me that. It all began after I met Kevin at a management event. Kevin introduced me to the Guild where I was welcomed with open arms. For that I thank Kevin Walsh
Today I am not only a proud member but an officer of the SAMBG.
I believe that the SABMG is where our industry professionals need to be. Aside from the networking, socializing and events, this is where friendships are formed and where colleagues unite.
